Noise from power supply. Help!

The power supply cord to my Schertler Pre amp finally crapped out. I got another one from Radio Shack and now it has a serious hum. The milli amps on the original is 350. I was told that the 500 milli amp on the replacement would be fine but I'm thinking that may be causing the noise. fdeck?, anybody?

You need to get a "regulated" power supply to avoid the hum. The usual kind is unregulated. Check which kind you bought.

Thanks tornado! I just ordered one from the original supplier and that's how he explained it too.
