There aren't a lot of the Compact 4 "in the wild" as compared to the 4B cabinets. Compared to the 4B (which I have), the Compact 4 are said to have a tighter bass response and a quicker attack, which for a double bass I am going to assume will be ideal. Especially with your amp head choice, you should end up with a very true reproduction of your sound, that is also easy to carry to and from gigs.

I think you'll be alright. When I talked to Phil about the difference between the 4B and the C4, he mentioned that the C4 sound is a bit tighter, not as deep. So, while it may not be ideal for someone with a 5 string bass (even though there are a number of 5 stringers using the C4 that love it), it will sound fantastic with the tonal range of the double bass. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
