Power cord

I just took delivery on an AI Ten2. My choice was based to some extent on the advice I received on this Forum, and I am appreciative.

Question: the power cord that comes with the amp is about 24" long, but I may need a cord of greater length to accommodate different settings. Is using an extension cord a good idea or should I buy a longer power cord? Does an extension cord or a longer power cord have any degrading effect on the amp's performance.

Thanks.

Extension cords are fine. Use a 14awg cord and all will be fine. Typical house wiring is 14awg in the US so you will be matched for full capacity of the wire which is 15 amps and the amp has a 8 amp fast blow fuse. The only problem you will rarely come across is with extreme extension cord lengths where you will encounter voltage drop. Don't lose any sleep over it.

I colmpletely agree. You might want to also have a shorter cable too. Something like a 14awg in standard 8 or 9 feet length. Makes it easier when you're right near an outlet or power strip.

Is that a mistype, or is what you received actually only two feet long? If so, it's either an accident at Acoustic Image or an (accidental) substitution at a dealer, as stock cables from Acoustic Image have always been around six feet long.

Mr. Gollihur is correct. I measured the power cord, and it is 6 feet long.
I am extremely happy with the Ten2. It works wonderfully well with my Planet Wing pickup. Again, thanks to those who advised me to purchase these 2 pieces of equipment.
