Preamp settings for K&K Bass Max Pro

I just installed a K&K Bass Max Pro on my Swingmaster ES-9 with the 4 piezo transducers below the bridge and the wing piezo on the "E" side of the bridge.

I'd appreciate input on anyone's experiences tweaking the EQ trim pots inside the mixer box. I'm using an EA 200C and am thinking of running all the eq pots flat inside the mixer box, while running both channels' gain trim pots wide open, using the volume knobs to control the pickup mix.

I think starting w/ the EQ flat makes sense. But you might not need the gain trim pots wide open. If memory serves, I had the trim pot for the Bass Max in particular turned down pretty far. I think it generates a pretty strong signal. With the trim pot all the way open, it might be too hot.

Unfortunately, it is hard to generalize. If you can, just set up a time to really tweak this stuff one knob at a time with like a laboratory mentality. Take notes if you have to. Find something like a music stand turned flat like a table that you can set the preamp on with the cover off and make adjustments w/ that little screwdriver.

Another caveat - Getting a good tonal blend between the p/u's is not always the same as getting a tone you like out of each one when solo'ed.

I know. It can be complicated. Usually it's worth it if you can afford to spend the time on it.
