Realist didn't work for arco for me

I finally got my issues fixed with noise with the realist but it doesn't work for arco actually sounds pretty bad when I listen to just the realist output through headphones. I'm using a fishman Pro EQ platinum EQ to solve the noise/impedance issue. A mic sounds the best when I record but that's out of the question because I'm trying to do live looping using a laptop so you can't use a mic that will pick up and record your previous loops as you record new ones. I'm mainly using the bow so would a fishman full circle be the only other option to try? I wondering long term if an EUB is the only decent option to do live looping.
Thanks for any advice,

Todd

i think listening to any pickup over headphones is borderline crazy. a pickup is not a microphone, that's all there is to it. jez, listen to a cheap mic under headphones and the *mic* will sound ******.

i assume the idea is to have something to amplify your instrument, so you're talking about the whole deal: pickup>pre>amp>speaker.

Todd,
I'm not quite sure what you are going after? On my 5/8 Mirecourt bass the Realist sounds very good with the bow for live performance.
Granted, I've never tried looping in a live situation. I'm thinking that you should check what Chris Wood or Viktor Krauss use since they are into what you are after. I wouldn't think that the Full Circle would work quite as well as the Realist for arco, but it may on your bass. Even the best EUB's won't give you the same sound as a Double Bass, close but no cigar.
