Rev. solo pickup cutting out

I guess it's time for a new pickup. Mine is about 3 years old. I originally thought it was a cord going bad. I have been playing into a fishman pro plat. I've had a few gigs were i would lose bass signal in the middle of songs, then it would come back. I would jiggle cords, tweak the pickup, unplug then replug everything back in. No one thing seemed to get my signal back so i was having a hard time isolating the problem.

Last night on the biggest stage my little town has to offer it crapped out on me. During sound check i had great signal. 3 bands were playing and i was playing in 2 of them. I had my bass set up and the first band played, all i did was turn down the volume on my pro plat. while they played. I was playing in the next band and when we went to fire up.......no bass signal. I ended up throwing a beta 57 in front of the bass and doing the set. Before the next band that i was playing in started i started tweaking my pickup and got my signal back.

I had outlined with pencil the pickup location to make sure i was in the sweet spot. When tweaking the pickup i returned it to the same location it was in before, when it was'nt working and it worked again. So i'm still not 100% sure it is the pickup.

Is 3 years about the life span of one of these pickups? Has anyone had problems with there pro plat. being the culprit in signal loss? I'm pretty sure its not in the cords as i have swapped cords only to have the same problem. Of coarse i can't get the thing to cut out on me at home when i'm trying to isolate the problem, it's always on a gig.
