| Schertler Pre-AII Preamp
Guys, have any of you ever tried using the Pre-AII as a preamp by itself with any of the other non-Schertler pickups? Lately I've been running my Rev. Solo through it and it's been sounding fantastic. It really fattens up the signal. Usually I have the resonance dial turned down pretty low and just enough to ward most feedback. Turning the resonance filter up obviously really thins the sound out.
I was doing a preamp A/B test against a Fishman Pro Plat EQ and I just can't play the Fishman anymore. The RS sounded really anemic in comparison. I think I'm moving away from trying to acurrately reproduce my bass' sound and instead going for a good amplified sound - the two ideas are similar but not neccessarily the same.
Anyways, just looking for any other experiences with the Pre-AII and other pups. Anybody?
