Anyone tried the Shadow double bass pickup? I'm growing tired of the realist and am considering eithe shadow or the revolution solo? any opinions?

I've tried the single-element, wing-mounted Shadow SH 951 and didn't like it. To me, the Revolution Solo sounds much better than either the SH 951 or the Realist.

I currently have a Shadow 965 for sale on EBAY. In my opinion, it's a good pickup if you want to go underfoot and want to get the sound of your bass. My current bass is very dark and boomy, so it didn't work for me. A friend has used one on an old carved bass and it sounded great and in fact, he liked it better than the realist. With the preamp it is versatile. It's hard to know whether any pickup might work without trying it on your particular bass, but I would say that if your bass has a clear and punchy tone, it might work for you.

If you asking about the Shadow pickup with two elements wing-mounted :this is very simmilar to Underwood, but a bit darker. I prefer Underwood, which has more bright sound , which could be better equalized.
