Shure PG56 dynamic mic with H-Clamp?

Anyone have experience with this mic? (Shure PG56) It looks like a stubby, I'm wondering if it would work well with the H-clamp.

Might. Lynn Seaton uses a Beta 56 tucked in between the bridge legs. I'm thinking the Beta 56 might be related in some fashion to the PG56, but I did not compare the tech specs.

The screw thread on the boom of the H-clamp for the mic clip is 3/8". If the thread on the Shure clips are 5/8", they probably come with a 3/8" adapter, or you can pick one up easily.

as a point of info, the exploraudio h-clamp ships with a 5/8 adaptor, not that they're hard to find ...

Yes, they do look related, though the PG56 is a bit closer to a regular SM 57/58 in specs and price (cheaper). I'm using a Beta 57 and a Beyer M88 now.....great mics for my bass, but I'm robbing them from P.A. duty. Hence I'm checking out alternative mics that can live on my bass with the H-Clamp.

Another dynamic mic that looks like it might work well is the Sennhiser E 604. It has an integral stand mic like the Shure, as well as a removable clip. And it only weighs 2 ounces, compared to the Shure that weighs more like 12 ounces.

Of course, the proof is in the testing and listening, so it will be interesting to hear what mics people start using with the H-Clamp as time goes on.
