| Sound reinforcement in the pit
I'm doing another musical (Oliver!) and that same question has come up...shall I play EUB or URB...and what do I do about arco.
Arco is louder and brighter than pizz on my Bugbass EUB. I think the same is true for my URB with an RS2 pickup.
I'm thinking of trying a footswitch with the URB, sending the pizz into the amp and keeping the arco acoustic only. The last two shows were more of a pop feel and I could get by with just pizz, regardless of what was marked. This show has more of an orchestral feel and I think it will need arco for several of the pieces.
What solutions do you pit players use for the pizz/arco arrangement?
