So the question should I get another M-Line or Wizzy 12? I was thinking a EA Wizzy 10 might be cool so I might use it for smaller DB hits but is it going to greatly increase my volume when I use it and the 12M?
I did a search and read a few things but I couldn't find one with this exact question. |
Fingers,
Several years back I thought I'd get creative and use a pair of EA VL 108's with my Walter Woods MI-400-8 for louder gigs. My thinking went like this, since one VL 108 sounded great in smaller venues it seemed logical that two of them would get me more power and more coverage. Unfortunately, it was pretty tricky to pull of because, stacking them as a pair put two tweeters in close enough proximity to the Realist and they would how, even with the tweeter and midrange controls rolled completely off!
So, just a word of caution, borrow that second cab and try it out. I've been able to use that configuration (2X VL 108) inside on carpet or a stage, but not outside on concrete. Go figure? Conversely, I can use a VL- 208 anywhere and get plenty of volume. Others have told me that the VL 208 and the Wizzy 12 M Line are similar sounding cabinets, evidently a pair of VL 208's sounds very good, so if you follow the "matching pairs rule" it stands to reason that two Wizzy 12 M Lines would also. Just to confuse the issue more, Bob Gollihur mentioned in another thread he's prototyping a Wizzy 210.
