Traveling with a GK Combo Amp

Has anyone stored a GK MB150 Combo Amp in the overhead on a plane? Does it fit with or without the gig bag?

It didn't work for me that way when I flew with it.

I brought my GK MB150E from Los Angeles to Scotland three years ago in its padded nylon bag that I slung over my shoulder and carried through LAX, Heathrow and Edinburgh Airports. It fit fine in the overhead bin of the 747 and Airbus aircraft that I flew on. On a subsequent trip, I did the same thing with a MB150X extension speaker. Several years earlier I took the amp from Los Angeles to Chicago on an American Airlines DC10, also stowing it in the overhead compartment. Other than the smallest jets or small computer planes, I can't imagine that it wouldn't still fit in most airline overhead compartments.
