Personally I don't do the naming inanimate objects thing but I figured if I decided to explain that theory to her that would have been the end of the conversation.

So this thread sprung to mind and I said 'Gretchen'. She seemed pleased by the name but asked why. I responded "'Cause I like to imagine dancing with a tall beautiful blonde when I'm playing". Did I mention she was a tall and beautiful blonde. I'm so freakin' smooth... and married.

Yeah, I hear that.
When I was single doing pickup gigs somehow chicks would be real defensive....
Now I'm married, if I was an ******* I could cheat on my wife plenty o'times.....
Thankfully I don't believe in that.

I've always had pretty good luck with the ladies. My wife is the only one for me though. Still is fun to smooth talk some drunk chick at a bar. Drunk people say the stupidest ****. I don't really drink much anymore but liked to get my drink on in my younger days. Now I just find drunk people really amusing.

Played years ago in a hard bop quintet. Tenor player's name was Wayne. Regularly played "Blue Trane." So the song became known as "Blue Wayne."

Then some drunk German gal starts showing up at every gig, with the hots for Wayne. So with her thick German accent, the song became known as "Blue Vein."

I hope that's funny. It sure was back then. [ Hint - Think male anatomy. ]

Very cheesy.

I played in a rhythm section comprising me (roger), the drummer (roger) and the keyboard player (roy). We booked a good tenor player and at the gig told him he would be trigger. How so? Because every gig we went out as Roy Rogers and Trigger. The fourth man was always Trigger.

Sorry, nothing to do with pickups but we can't be serious all the time.

Yikes BOLO ! Back to topic ... FWIW ....

I run a Solo Rev II on my Kay and love it. Fit Is Everything .... Solo Revolution and AI Coda bad sound help .

However, based on all the past good press here at TB concerning the FC, I am having Mr. Luthier Jake deVilliers install a FC on my other bass, a 60ish Gibson Epiphone B-5. I hope to get the bass back from him in the next month or so. I will probably file out the Epi's bass-side bridge wing and fit up for a Solo Rev II also since I have a spare one hanging around. Some day I will be able to rightfully compare the two p-ups side-by-side on the same bass.

Hmmmm. I'm beginning to think the RevII may excel particularly on plywoods.

Perhaps. I still prefer the Full Circle to the Rev Solo on my ply. It's more about the individual player and the bass than any class of bass or type of construction.

I think so too. The RS II sounds good on my carved Czech flatback.

I think for the wing-mounted p/u's the actual bridge is a big factor / variable too. Like every bass is different, a different bridge on the same bass can produce different results. Anyway, that's my theory.

I will say the FC seems more consistent from bass to bass based on all the reviews I've read. Like Bob K. and others have said, the fit of the Rev Solo and the interaction with the bridge is what I think produces such varied results. When it works well, it can be really great. I liked it flipped over w/ the "R" symbol facing the bass.
