This is a question for Mr. Manring. I heard that
Zon was developing a 6 string Hyper for you, is there any truth in that rumor? and if so when will the record come out, because that would be way fatt. |

| | | | Hi Biggus,
Joe Zon and I have been working on a double neck 6-string Hyperbass for way more years than I care to count! It's partially done, but I'm sorry to say that I can't offer an estimate of when it will be finished. Hopefully soon. |

Edit: Out of curiosity, how tall are you guys?

| | | | Even though I'm a 4 string player at heart...I would LOVE a double neck 6 string hyperbass....It would be fun to wiggle around on.

| | | | Michael,
Would your doubleneck have 6 strings on each neck, or 6 strings total? |
05-19-2003, 07:46 PM
| | | | It will have six strings on each neck, one fretted, one fretless. I'll still have a few strings to go to catch up to John Turner! |

oh yeah, assuming you have the same crazy bridge which allows you to adjust tunings of pairs of strings to 3 different tunings, and a hipshot detuner on every string, you're looking at
3x3x3x3x3x3x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2 different tunings for the whole thing. ie.
2.9 million tunings.

I'm assuming this would have a 6 string version of the detunable bridge? I ask because I've seen a 6 string Hyperbass that Joe made recently (few months ago) but it was with a standard bridge.
Look forward to hearing about it! |

| | | | Actually the two bridges for this baby are done. They allow for instant access to three tunings for each neck. The necks are also done and all twelve Hipshots appear to be working. As to how many tunings the entire instrument will offer instant access to, the parameters are somewhat complex, but I believe the correct number can be expressed as, "a whole bunch"! | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
