Bass souunds

I'm looking for that Gene Simmons bass sound. Can someone give me pointers or tips on how I can achieve this sort of sound. Thank you.

There was an interview with Gene earlier this year in Bass Player I think... He spoke about his "Punisher" bass and SVT amps..

If I use the pick ups that gene simmons uses and stings, would I get his sort of sound? Also, it sounds like theres some distortion there. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.
