Boss VF-1 question for Michael

Hi Michael, I just got a used VF-1. I saw you use this live 4 or 5 years ago and was really impressed with the sounds. My question is, which preset did you find most useful as a basis for editing and building custom patches? Was it Bass Multi, Guitar Multi 1 or 2 or were you using a vocal or acoustic setup? I am planning to add a midi floorboard for live use, I am thinking that Bass multi would work well in a band context but I am doing some solo bass shows also so for those, I am not sure.

Thanks in advance, John

Hi John,

For simple sounds without a lot of effects I tend to use the vocal algorithm because the compressor is a bit more full-featured, subtle and seems to sound a bit better than the one in the bass setup. I find just about all the VF1 algorithms useful, though, depending on the application. What a fun box!
