Just won a Hyperbass ...

This question is for Mr. Manring, and any other Hyperbass users.

I just won a Hyperbass on eBay. It isn't shipping until Friday, but I wanted to start thinking about ... things. I wanted to know if anyone had any words of advice, tips, thoughts, what to expect, etc.

I was also curious about maintenance - the bridge looks like a pretty complex piece of machinery, and I wondered how one would take care of it - does it need lube, any TLC, etc. I would hate to spend this kind of money on a bass and have the bridge sieze ...

Thanks for any replies. BTW, I saw Mr. Manring live many years ago at the LA Bass Exchange 2nd Anniversary Party - what a show, and what a musician! That was what inspired me, all that time ago, to get a Hyperbass :-)

Jeff

Thanks so much, Jeff! I think you'll have fun with your Hyperbass. Mine hasn't needed much maintenance -- less than I'd expect from an instrument that has put in as many miles as it has. I oil the Hipshots occasionally, but the bridge needs almost nothing. I take it apart once in a while to check for wear, but it seems to be holding up OK.
