I played bass as a teenager in several bands but gave it up to family responsibilities. Now I,m 54 and have recently purchased a Washburn XB102(Bantam Series) Bass. Can you tell me anything about this bass? Age, where manufactured? Can you also suggest a good amp( both stage and practice) that would be compatable with this guitar? Thanks

I feel I am in the same boat as you. Gigged alot in the 80's and early 90's. Now I am back in it (my room) trying to decide what gear to get. I have a Crate bx75 amp for my room, sounds good to great at times. It is limited though, no effects loop or options really to speak of. I am looking for a higher end combo or preamp for home recording or looping while I try to write some tunes. I would suggest that you go to a music store and play as many different amps as you can to familiarize yourself with their sounds and features. Then go buy a used one. It seems that alot of us buy something from the net without playing it first, then are disappointed with either sound or weight or whatever. I know that my reply doesnt answer your question directly, but there is a ton of info on this site. try the search functions. I personnaly have been steered in the past correctly from the people on these pages!!!
