1/4 TS >>>> 1/4 TRS
Was wondering if you can use a balanced 1/4 TRS in an unbalanced 1/4 jack (TS). I need to adapt an unbalanced 1/4 to a balanced XLR. I have a balanced 1/4TRS>XLR cable....just wondering if it will be OK. I'm gonna assume it will be OK. Just wanted to querry to make sure my gut is right. Thanks.

All joking aside, I dug a bit after my initial post.....looks like hum "could" happen. Sounds like 50/50 chance there might be some sort of hum when using a TRS-XLR into a 1/4 TS-XLR connection. What's funny, is a day or two after I posted this question I had an epiphani.....why but just use a "normal" 1/4 TS cable on both ends. Duh!!!! Dot know why I was over thinking this. Pretty sure the REDDI's thru output is unbalanced....so just go u balanced all the to the other input of my interface.
What I am attempting to do is use the REDDI for tracking, both colored and uncolored sounds. I want to record a separate track from the thru out of the REDDI direct into my interface in addition to signal passing through the REDDI's direct out circuitry. I want the "thru out" track to be as uncolored as possible. I will be using this "uncolored" track for reamping a a later date. Once compete, I'll have the colored signal from the REDDI's direct out along with the reamped signal from rig. I'll blend the two to taste for a final mix. Don't know why, but hit a brain fart trying to figure out the best way to connect the REDDI's unbalanced thru out to my interface. All is well now.
