Abbreviated version of Advice Please!!

As my previous post was too long for anybody to read, I will cut to the point!

Any opinions on Focusrite Scarlett 212?

Any reason why it would be better to plug a bass directly into the interface, rather than passing through the analog mixer first?

Thanks guys (and girls)!!

If you're not adding anything useful (or subtracting anything objectionable) with the mixer, then run straight in. Slightly less noise that way.

Let your ears be your guide - it's all about the tone. If the mixer gives you a tone that you like, go for it. If not, skip it.

I agree. I have been using the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 direct and it has been fine. Unless you want the mixer to add something i.e. effects, direct will be fine.

unless your mixer has a parametric eq it really doesnt add anything except noise to your signal... go direct.
