Which adapter?

Sign in to disble this ad
When my band records, I have been using the effects send on my amp to go into the mixer. However, there has been noise and unwanted distortion. I bought a Canare mic cable off lavacables.com that is XLR M to XLR F, and now I need an adapter to go from the XLR to 1/4" mono jack on this mixer (http://www.guitarcenter.com/Behringe...64-i1153500.gc). Do I need this http://www.guitarcenter.com/Whirlwin...00-i1134878.gc or http://www.guitarcenter.com/Planet-W...09-i1128994.gc ? Thanks!

The unwanted noise is because of the impedance of your signal. The whirlwind is able to convert the signal impedance whereas the planet waves product is just to connect XLR to 1/4".

Get the whirlwind and you should loose the noise.

Thanks, but under what situations would the planet waves be useful?

Noise as in his, hum, or buzz?

The effects out needs to feed a 1/4" line input on the mixer.

Although the best result will likely be the bass into a Radial Pro48DI into a mixer mic in. And perhaps mic the cabinet as well.

Do NOT adapt the effects out into a mixer XLR mic in. The signal will likely be too strong (distortion), and if the phantom supply gets turned on, it could blow the effects out circuit (and perhaps more).
