(I'm guessing this is the right forum for this...)
I've been lurking for a while, just reading random threads, and I registered recently, trying to find some info on this, but I couldn't.
I want to connect my bass the my computer. I've got a Sound Blaster Audigy 2, so it has a dedicated Line-in. My amp has a Line out and a Headphones out. When I connect my sound card to either one, the sound is choppy and noisy if I set the volume to where I can use it. At very low volume, it is ok, but I can barely hear it. I'm guessing that this is an impedance issue? Do I need an impedance matcher? Or am I looking at a more expensive purchase. I also got the idea of running a 2-in-1-out splitter, so that I can connect my headphones to my PC and my amp at the same time, so that I never have to go under my desk and swap connections. Would this work, or would having 2 input signals cause problems?
When I connect headphones to the amp, they sound great.
I'm using a Squier Jazz Deluxe 5 string, and a Behringer 15watt practice amp.
If any of you guys know what is going on here, I would really appreciate the help!
