The new update of JamUp is worth mentioning. Major update if you ask me. The tone is vastly improved. So, check out this

I think JamUp with the bass pack and the new update worth this attention.

Update: Amplitube, Ampkit, GK app & Jamup XT Pro a kind of a review.

Hello iOS emulsion app users.
Since I've started this thread a long time ago lots of stuff have changed. I'll just give a very short update as lots of stuff can be said and written.

So, there is a new kid in town (regarding bass gear) and the name is Jamup XT Pro from Positive Grid. This kid (hte XT version with the bass pack) was born in the summer of 2012 and offered the very first bass pack for us bass players. But, as any new software or product the very first version was not the most impressive out there regarding tone. But 2-3 weeks ago there have been some "minor bug fixes" in this software which turned out to be MAJOR tone upgrade. Jamup is now on the par with the current king of tone, thus Amplitube iOS from IK multimedia. IK Multimedia was kind enough to give out the B15R which is was a huge improvement comparing to the original bass head. It is the very first dedicated bass gear to be released from IK since the very start. While the B15R is VERY impressive, the time it took IK multimedia to release this amp was not so... impressive. In the same amount of time Ampeg have released the PF350, PF500, SVT 7Pro, SVT 8Pro, the Mico VR and the Micro CL.....
While all in all Amplitube iOS is maybe (to this date exactly) the best all in all solution for us bass players, today 10 dec. 2012 is the day of days. Positive Grid released just an other update which support AudioBus which means Amplitube domination is about to end. Not only Jamup bass pack gives us legendary amps such as the B15 1969/1966, SWR Redhead, GK 800RB, Ampeg SVT Blue line and the beautiful Sansamp BDDI but now Jamup can be hooked with Audiobus to a recorder such as the Multitrack DAW, NLogSynth etc. Live!
Positive Grid seem also to be actually interested in us bass players and are following The Virtual Official JamUp Bass group on Soundcloud, started by us.
IK multimedia on the over side delete out posts on the IK multimedia if they are not really "good" posts. Way to go to treat you customers IK you really show us the it is "The musician first".
We show interest in your product and defended you in various debates for not being as good as hardware gear, you really show us appreciation!

Sorry in all of this that I didn't mention Ampkit which did great by releasing the Trace Eliot and Ashdown amps. Ampkit do quite well, and now you can get the Ampkit app for Mac for a ridiculous low amount of money!! For 350 NKr you get ALL the inn app gear. Totally worth it if you dig the Ashdown or the Trace tone.
The GK app is about the same as it was, thus a bit hissy, but still a great value and not to forget the GK tone.

A little addition to my previous thread. Jamup by Positive Grid support Audiobus, so the lack of a multitrack recorder on JU is no issue any more. Jamup and Multitrack DAW works like a dream together.

The only thing I don't like about AmpKit is that there's this constant "ambience" that you can't get rid of. Unfortunately, this tends to cause a boxy sound that is very muddy in the low end.

If they could fix this, and add Audiobus support, it would be a great app.

Indeed, and it is specially easy to hear with the Ashdown which otherwise sound very nice.

Very much so. In fact, even with a ton of EQ, the ambience is still bad enough that it's not very useful live. I can see it working if you were playing with an acoustic band, but in a loud rock context, it would be MUD.
