Anybody Use A PC For Professional Recording?

Sign in to disble this ad
First off,I tried the search function before I posted this thread and It didn't help. I'm trying to put together a decent dedicated audio PC. I'm looking for suggestions on what I need as far as PC requirements and what types of input setups you are running. Also info on what to stay away from. This system will be used for A/D conversions and band/orchestra type recordings. I greatly appreciate any advice or input. Thanks.

Start here: Recording Gear and Equipment FAQ

Your post will most likely get moved to that forum. There always seems to be one or two of these threads going on over there.

Post back when you develop more specific questions, OK? With fast modern CPUs, you don't need anything that remarkable for a computer these days, especially if you're going to be mainly recording live stereo stuff.

EQ mag does a section on a few studios each month, you can see some great PC recording examples in there.
