Avid Mbox review?

Hey guys, I came across this on the GC website. Does anyone have any experience with this set-up. Is it a good value? I am a complete newb when it comes to recording. I would like to make my own drum tracks and record some bass and other samples. Would this work well and is it user friendly? Suggestions, and opinion all welcome. Thanks!

I have an older version that works great I would check with Hello Music they sometimes run a package that has a full version of Pro Tools included and yes it is very user friendly.

The Mbox mini is a pretty good interface, nice Preamps as well.

It has two channels, both with switchable DI. Channel 1 can be used with mics as well. Channel 2 is only DI or line level. It has a metal enclosure, very sturdy. A bit on the heavy side, so not very friendly if you plan to carry it around.
The Knobs are IMO kinda flimsy and could get easily damaged if you transport the unit carelessly.
The thing I don't like is that you don't have an independent control for the Headphones, but that's not an issue if you're going to be doing Home Recording.
