So ive got Cubase SX. My keyboard is hooked up via MIDI to Cubase and it records. Only problem now is that when I press play, theres no sound coming from anything. Not from my keyboard, nor from my pc boxes?
Has anyone got a solution?

I assume you know how to setup VST input and output channels and you have those setup correctly for the project?
There is a monitor button on the channel strip, you will not hear anything being recorded unless you have that depressed.
But it sounds like you have the outputs assigned wrong.

Try setting the MIDI output to the default MIDI device or try setting it to some VST instrument.Should work

YAY. My pc boxes make sound now when i play something and they make sound when i record something.
But now another problem
with the drum thingy i can only use like 2 octaves on my keyboard, and thats not enough. And with just piano or sth i can only use 3 octaves. My keyboard is five octaves wide, so how do i fix this?
Also, how can you select another instrument besides piano in Cubase? or is that done via your keyboard?

there's a little monitor button (has something triangular-ish on it) on every channelin the mixer.

Clicking on those can get you to playing back audibly.

I'm a newbie to Cubase LE, but this has worked for me.

also go to www.homerecording.com/bbs (like TB, only less hip and about recording.)

I am known as Obi-Wan zenabI there.
