FIGHT~!

but seriously, anyone have experience btwn the two? what did you think?

does Protools need the MBox to work? can i use my own program i.e. Cubase, Goldwave, etc.? and anyone have any experience with Tracktion? is it a Mackie pure program, or is it a dumbed down port of Cubase? how flexible and versatile is it? and finally, the focusrite pre's vs. the mackie pre's? which did you prefer?

which one reigns supreme!

Don't know a whole lot about Spike and Traction, though it is supposed to be "musician proof". Seems like a solid piece of hardware, and I know you can use pretty much whatever software you want.

Pro Tools does need the M-box to function. Thats just how Digi is.

Tracktion is an excellent program. It has nothing to do with Cubase. And not much more to do with Mackie: Mackie doesn't develop it, they just market it.

It has a great user interface IMO and is surprisingly powerful.
