Which would you buy for your home recording adventure? Mostly jazz (modern), rock, and funk type music. I'm using a PC., presonus firebox, and cubase LE. Vote and post your reasoning.

Battery is also nice, but a different animal from DFH and BFD, which are meant to sound like a mic'd drum kit (mic bleed of all the drums, etc.).

I play extreme metal (death, etc) so I'll need to program really complicated fast stuff in odd time signatures...what would be best? And maybe a tutorial somewhere?
Thanks!
I have crappy pc, with Cubase Sx3 and Reason w/ drumagog so far.

Excellent sound, easy to use as the name would imply, cheaper than BFD or DKFH Superior, also easier on your RAM and processor.
It's a little more limited in that there are less drum pieces and cymbals to choose from, but that's about the only drawback. Also, the samples recieved a little post-processing and EQ whereas BFD and DKFH Superior are raw, but they're not "overcooked" to the point where you can't do your own sound designing with them. |

I only hope that it isn't too complicated for me, I basically have no idea what I am getting in to (except the quality samples).

I need something that sounds realistic but that I can easily enter beats in with maybe my microphone (triggering like Drumagog, but faster) or something.
Ideas?

I use a MIDI keyboard to create my drum tracks. I try to play as much of it "live" as possible so I don't sacrifice feel (ie, I don't want to play a couple bars and then just copy/paste them in loops.) I'll go back and punch in fills and correct/quantize glaring timing problems later on.
It takes a little practice (as with anything else) to become a semi-proficient keyboard-drummer but it's worth it to me. I'll practice drums like anything else: start a metronome and start playing some grooves.
I think just about everyone has seen this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3a28-izAFU <-- he's my keyboard drummer hero. |

Simply amazing. Priced right at US $99 but the Jamboree bundle at US $139 is a steal.

Pig Destroyer used it on both of thier albums. Meshuggah used it for the albums I and None. DKFH2 has extreme metal in its blood.
After Superior came out the price dropped to $65! |

I've used it and love it thus far. There are some different drum kits out there for it. The only downside is that it only comes stock with 1 drum set. |
