firestudio vs. firepod

Sign in to disble this ad
For a while ive been looking into getting a firepod (I have a firebox so im familiar with the interface), but now i see there is the firestudio. Can anyone tell me the real big differences between them that makes the firestudio better? Is it really worth spending the extra cash? I mean, they both have 8 inputs and preamps, and they both can be daisy chained, what can be so much better about the firestudio? although the firestudio has optical input/output, they both can still go to a max of 24 lines. feel free to offer your opinions of any other interface. thanks for the help

The FireStudio also adds WordClock in/out, a power switch on the front panel, and a connection for the optional Monitor Station Remote in addition to the Lightpipe in and out connections previously mentioned. Depending on the complexity of your setup, the WordClock is a pretty big deal.

The FireStudio does not replace the functions of the Central Station. The FireStudio does have an option for adding the Monitor Station Remote:

Adding this to the the FireStudio would give you much of the functionality that the Central Station gives.
