Just wondering what settings you guys who have this are using. I just picked it up with the d.i. about a month or so ago and like it a lot but as with most things of this nature the presets are not so hot.

i never use the presets, particularly not for bass.
because i like the sound of my bass as it is i try a lot of my own settings running without a cab emulation, and sometimes without either an amp or a cab simulated in the sound.
the best amp models in it for bass in my opinion are the Eden like one, the rock classic and the blackface.
for me compression is a must also.

I don't use the bass presets but use the vocal ones for bass quite a bit. usually the Vintage UK preamp or the Vintage US. Add some compression, the Bass OD and it sounds pretty good. I think whenever you are modeling a speaker output/mic it sounds cheesy.

I use a SVT and a Sansamp, when I use cab modeling I use the RE-20 mic model.

The cab simulation does sound pretty cheesy, I do want to use the Bass 400+ simulation though.

Drum machine?! Didnt know it had one, may try it sometime.

I mostly use Ampeg Svx for bass recording needs. Way more versatile for bass than Gearbox.

I would not go so far as to call it a drum machine except at it's most basic level. They are not sounds you could expect to use in any recording, unless you are going for a super cheezy sound.
