I'm currently learning on how to record and setup the gear etc. I got some midi tracks for the drum parts but the sound is pretty bad i think, was wondering are their any decent Drum VST that i can use for cubase SX?

There's all sorts of VSTi drums you can run. My personal favourite is Toontrack's Superior Drummer 2.0, but people have good results with Toontrack's EZDrummer, FXPansion's BFD, and XLN's Addictive Drums.

What version of Cubase are you running? If you have HALion One, it has some drum kit sounds you can use. I've never used them (I had Drumkit from Hell back when I was on Cubase), but they'll be better than the Microsoft General Midi synth.

The real question is, what sounds and features do you need, and how much are you willing to spend?

Yup - I'm 99% sure all Toontrack software has Audio Units (GarageBand / Logic plug-in structure) as an option.

EZDrummer is great man. It do the trick for so easy. I try alot of simple free plugin before but they all sound really bad, but EZDrummer sound decent.

EZDrummer is nice, but I am annoyed by its wealth of advanced non-useable drum patterns and lack of simple beats. Furthermore it's really hard in the plugin to find the simple beat you're looking for.

Maybe I should try the other plugins that Nick Kay mentioned...

EZ Drummer is a wonderful program. Easy to use and sounds great. If you get tired of the included MIDI loops, Groove Monkey offers a huge assortment of loops that work with EZD.

BFD... it's what I used... and although I try to play bass... I'm really a drummer ... run cubase 4... triggered with a td20... bfd sounds WAY better than the roland sounds... but then again ... it should
