| | Hi-Z and the ProFire 610
I'm confusing myself again.
The guide for the ProFire 610 says "Two front-panel XLR/TS Combo jacks accepting mic or instrument level inputs." And "Two rear panel 1/4" TRS balanced line inputs."
I'm understanding that as as the front panel has XLR that takes low-z and 1/4" TS that takes hi-z. XLR is balanced, but TS isn't.
The rear is line level, which is low-z, right? On my mixing board, I either have to run a DI from my bass or push a button to change from low to hi Z. Does the ProFire 610 do that automatically?
I ask because my mic seems to come through okay while the bass is not. Turning up the gain completely helps the volume but harms the sound.
Another thing that is confusing me - when I was googling this, I came across +4/-10 for "pro vs consumer gear." Do I need to sweat that?
