So I wanted a 4 string "backup bass"... that I can use for lessons, etc. (band is in flattened tuning) that's halfway decent and will do what I want it to. I found the Ibanez SR400QM. It's active with a mid knob (something I love and don't see enough), 24 frets and it has a really nice finish (I'm guessing I'm going to have a fetish for purple basses...

). I looked it up on YouTube, and I love the sound. My point is, all of this was going fine. And then I realized... some of the pictures do NOT have the mid knob, but are classified as SR400QM. Look here:

(look at the Lavender finish)

This began to confuse me. So, I went back to the Ibanez site. Here it is on the Ibanez site:

It has the knob. So I figured those were just, silly. Then, I looked at ALL the SR basses.

According to Ibanez, ALL the SR basses have a mid knob. I guess what I'm asking is, if I were to buy this off of Musician's Friend or Sweetwater, would they give me the lavender burst with the mid knob. Someone who generally understands SRs would he wonderful, thank you SO much.
Also, wasn't sure if this is the right forum for this, as it pertains not to just one instrument... really.
