Inexpensive interface for PT LE

I am a Logic Pro user and have a nice setup, but I have a opportunity to pickup some PT work. So I need to buy an interface that will my PT dongle and I can get up to speed with PT. I hear the M-Audio stuff has problems with Leopard and price is high because you have to buy PT M separately. If going to buy something want something useful not just a PT dongle. So what do think between the Digi' Mini or MBox Pro the price difference that much. Thinking those two Digi's are small enough to take with my laptop and do some remote work.

So what is an inexpensive interface for PT that works well with OS X Leopard.

Do you need a lot of input/outputs or are you just going to do mixing/producing ITB?

Mainly editing and mixing and using with my laptop record stuff now and then. Be nice to have two mic inputs but guess I could live with one. I have a FF800 for my Logic setup.

Standard MBox2 gives you 2 mic ins, MBox2 mini gives you 1. The MBox Micro gives you 1/8" outs for headphones and no analog ins. It's basically a dongle to allow the mixing of PT projects. It's $250 at Sweetwater (I imagine it's comparable everywhere else)...still pretty steep, but it's something.

I've got a standard MBox 2 and am running it with Leopard and the newly released PTLE 7.4.2 and it's done well so far.

i use an mbox2 pro and i'm able to record a drum set here at my house using the 4 inputs. soon i'll be adding a preamp that will run on the spdif input giving me a total of 6 inputs.

that said i think that it's important to get the best thing that your budget will allow. i'm looking to upgrade to a DIGI003r sometime in the future.

It's a drag Digi's non-HD gear is basically a dongle you'd think since you have to use their gear they would make some decent stuff. I almost wish they had a version of PT LE that would work with any gear, but I understand why they don't. If I can find a deal I will go with the MBox 2 if not then the Mini.

Yup, and that's been the predominate feeling about PTLE since the 001 came out. I must admit that the mic pres and the A/D converters sound worlds better than they used to. I ran direct from my AI Contra to the MBox 2's mic in and the sound was nice and clean, clear, and growly.

Technically they have come out with a solution to let you use your FF. The m-audio light bridge something or other. You are limited still to 96k but you can technically record 32 tracks simultaneously I beleive, or they were going to come out with that ability through a firmware update. Its $400 I think, plus the software at $250, but youd have better sounding conversion I would think.
