Interface help!

Scrap my last thread on a usb guitar jack, I decided I want to set up a DAW at home (for use with Amplitube like before, but also to do a little recording with)! At my bands studio we have an Alesis unit with 8 pre-amps in it, but I don't need something that big.. I'm thinking 4 would be ideal. Any suggestions? I'd like something around $200 USD.

The Tascam US-800 looks okay and has six inputs plus Cubase 5 LE (we run 5 Studio usually, so it's familiar), though I can find almost no information at all regarding it on the web! The Alesis Multi-mix 8 might also be good, though it is a little bulky. There are a few 2 channel ones out there I really like the look of, though they might be a bit too limiting for me as I'd like to record some drums from time to time and the Glyn Johns technique is a favourite of mine.

Also, something with an optical out would be cool as I don't have real studio monitors and it would make connecting to my computer speakers a lot easier (since the analogue ports are used up by my PC's sound card). Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Focusrite seem to have some cool looking small units too, only two preamps but a few line inputs which starts to make up for that a little (we have a Presonus tube pre in the band studio that I could take). One thing the Tascam has going for it over all the others though is two headphone jacks, though we also have a small headphone amp at the band studio I could take when need be.

Ended up buying a Focusrite 8i6 today. Over-budget but I think I'll be happy with it!
