iPod Playback App

Sign in to disble this ad
Does anyone have any suggestions for an iPod Touch playback app for practice that has more features than the standard iPod controls? Perhaps something with pitch shift, quick and easy rewind/ff etc.? I like really like the 30 second quick rewind 'button' in the podcast playback screen but no such thing exists on the music playback side. I am aware of the variations available for dragging the music position slider but big fingers and small controls don't mix so well. I'd love a full featured playback app.

I use "Music Trainer" available in iTunes. Really works well. It has a 30 second backward jump, pitch shift, tempo shift, repeat, easy pause, ff, and rw.

I find a couple, one free, one for purchase. Are either of these the one you are referring to:

App Store - Slow Down Music Player

App Store - Slow Down Music Trainer

Slow Down Music Trainer, a mobile phone app that lets you slow down music with out changing pitch!

Thanks

I know this is PC... I've had better luck using Best Practice as it's easier to bring tunes in and out.

----

Are there any applications that will read mp3 or wma files without bringing into itunes?

I'm interested if it will read files without dorking with itunes...

it's funky how you "share" files.. is faster.

I actually downloaded the free version of that as well and ordered an iRig so we'll see how that goes as well.

There is a "slow down for practice" thing. I expected pops and distortion, but it actually works quite well. I am using it with iRig.

new version of "Slow Down Music Trainer" for iPhone

I am the author of the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch app "Slow Down Music Trainer".

Thanks for the comments about "Slow Down Music Trainer". This is what totally motivates me. Most of the features I have implemented where originally suggested by players like you.

I expect Apple will release the latest version of my app in a couple of days. If you already own this app you will be able to get the update for free. One of the cool new features I added is a way for you to save a slowed down copy of a song or phrase and email it to your students.

Happy Holidays

Andy

Excellent and looking forward to trying it. I just checked and don't see any available updates yet so I'll check back later. Very nice of you to drop by and let us all know. Thank you. Any thoughts on a similar version for Android? I think you would be the first of this type.

BTW, what version am I now looking for? I have 3.3 but assume the updates are onto that version so there will be a newer version coming?
