iriffPort...Anyone tried yet?

I've been debating on getting one of the iriffPorts. But I wanted to check and see if anyone has bought or tried one yet? Looks like right now they are only sold at Sweetwater. Almost got the Apogee but I see the Apogee is not compatible with the Amplitube app. The specs from the website look pretty good:

iRiffPort™ Digital Audio Guitar Connection for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch Features

Also found these 2 videos of PolyNeon playing with one...Even though in the video the sound seems to be coming out of a powered monitor speaker. This might have the same sound quality as the Apogee or better from the specs.

Any input is welcome

I'm trying to find out whether it will work with the iPhone 3GS. Some docking audio dongles (like the Apogee Jam) work, others don't. So, I'm wondering why the blurb for the iRiffPort only mentions the 4G devices...

I do not believe that iriffport is compatible with amplitube either. It appears to me that the iriffport interface is the same as the apogee.

For what you can get an irig (or similar) for these days, why not just get one of each to cover all bases

That would be interesting. What does Amplitube care? - iRig is just a FET pre-amp into the Mic in. It doesn't have any proprietary digital circuits to lock it out of an app. iRiffport looks the same. It'd be interesting it it didn't work amplitube.

Interfaces that plug into the bottom of the iPod are a different story. Here I bet they are all locking each other out. Foolish companies. They won't sell in the long run.

Got my iriffport today. WAY quieter than the Amplink I already had.

Doesn't work with Amplitube.

So far works great with pocketGK and GarageBand.

Haven't tried anything else yet with it.

I'm using a carvin in passive mode with excellent results.
