Anyone used this piece of kit? It seems like an amazing investment. As i live away from uni it looks like it is the perfect choice.
Opinions?

If your looking for a system to learn that will help you down the road this isnt such a good idea. Learning a DAW will help you alot more in the long run, and can be had for the same amount of money as the korg, if you already have a computer.
I started on a unit it like that, its great for getting ideas down, but trying to edit in that tiny screen gets tough. |

This is for location recording (then edit at home/uni) i would NEVER edit on one of these things. But i run a desktop so to do location recording (+ sound engineering live) this seems pretty damn ideal

Most reviewers have figured that it's a good unit if you want to do your tracking on standalone hardware then transfer the tracks to a DAW for mixing.
On the plus side it's very easy to use (less features means simpler operation, eh?) and if the limited feature set suits your needs, go for it. |

I have been recording for years, starting with 2-track reel to reel and progressing to Adobe Audition, so I'm not afraid of computer recording, but the band needs something to capture live performances. The D888 is ideal because we only need eight tracks (we gig with an eight channel mixer) and we can patch it between the band and the mixer.
