Laptop Recording Problems

I used Audacity on my deasktop computer and pluged my bass into the red reording input slot. When i use my Presario CQ50 it picks up both with the built in mic and red recording input slot. Anyone else have this problem? Anyone know how to fix it? Any cheap alternatives? Thanks.

Jump in the Sounds and Audio Devices bit in the control panel, find the internal mic, and disable it. You might also be able to mute it in the recording listing for Windows Volume Control.

Alternatively, you can pop the badboy open and disconnect the mic, but that's a rather extreme solution to the problem.

I got it working. For people with this problem......... go into the mic options and turn it to zero. then plug in and record.

perfect title, just missed a couple symbols - "laptop" + "recording" = "problems"

+1

I also use Sony Sound Forge but hard to justify price difference.
