Lightsnake or M-audio mobile pre?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi guys looking for some input. I've just started getting back into playing and doing home recordings using Logic pro on my new imac. When my brother comes over he brings his m-audio mobile pre and it's worked great with the program along with ampliTube x-gear.

The problem is he comes over infrequently and I can't record when he's not here. I was checking out the lightsnake chord and the price seems good. I've read mixed reviews, but mostly good for mac users. However I dunno if maybe I should just spend the extra cash and get the m-audio unit.

The other thing is I also want to get a Fishman pro-EQ platinum preamp or something equivelant, to beef up my sound through my amp aswell as plug it in when I record. I dunno if it's really worth getting cause the equalizer's and compressor's on amplitube and logic pro work pretty well. but it would be nice to have a pre going to my amp when I'm messing around.

I have around $300 to work with but want to try to spend as little as possible for right now, don't have much to play around with.

Thanks guys love the forum!
