Question Line 6 BackTrack vs Boss Micro BR

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi guys,

I've got a few ideas and compositions, which I'd like to record, but don't want to stick with the computer, because I want to share my ideas with my band mates, and I need something more portable, than my Mac.
So these two devices caught my attention, the Line 6 BackTrack and the Boss Micro Br.
Has some of you ever tried one of these? What are your impression?
Which is more easy to use, more portable, and worth more the money?

I've also seen the Centrance AxePort Pro which looked promising, but it is really difficult to get it here in Hungary.

So please help, and feel free to suggest any other portable and cost-efficient plug-and-play device, which can be connected to the computer after recording, and can record the band rehearsal too!

Interesting thread in that I'm looking for a small portable recorder. I hadn't considered the Line 6 but am looking at the Micro and the Zoom H2/H4. The Line 6 is the least expensive, but it is also primarily a digital recorder. The Boss and the Zooms are multitracks. If you are just looking to quickly record something the Line 6 may be best. I'm leaning to the Boss since it has a nice drum machine that I can practice with or use when I just jam with some guitars. The Zoom and the Line 6 seem to have better Mics.

I haven't really tested any of the units, so if anyone has any experience please chime in. Thanks.

My first intention was to just record some quick idea I came up with. Then maybe I can record our bands jam session or a small demo, but these aren't the main purposes of my thread.

So I assume I need some simple unit, that can record some of my "scratch" tracks, for the next "big-hit" of our band.

I would think the Line 6 would be the best inexpensive way to go, I haven't seen much written on the Line 6 but hopefully someone will chime in. I'm picking up the Boss shortly....
