It looks like it has "Fender Bassman" settings. If anything, from the reviews I read, it won't necessarily hurt your recordings. I may pick one up myself.

They can be used with bass. You can practice with them. hear that they chew the batteries up real fast though. Probably better of getting a sansamp or something like that.

The "Bassman" setting on those is pretty darn good.

I got one yesterday..I was dissapointed .. 4 bass presets that I wouldn't use. I will stick to my pod xt and return this. I was hoping to be able to put about 8 presets on it and use it to gig with.....

Thought I'd check one out for myself so have one coming.

The x3 bass presets are actually pretty decent and quality of tone has gone up dramatically from the xt. I dinked some with the song presets on it and some of the clean ones were useable for bass while a number of the distortion presets were pretty inspiring for bass/rhythm guitar melt so good for trios or some soloing. I'd guess maybe a fourth or third of the 40 song presets were worthy and the pocket pod has what - 300?

Will see.

Got the pocket pod yesterday. Went through a set of batteries since then - eats 'em like candy. I don't have AAA rechargeables which prompted me to try a couple 9v adapters I have laying about. One an 800 miliamp unit that I think is for a an Art tube pre and the other a boss 200 miliamp PSA 120T for pedals. Both worked fine with the pocket pod - a plus since it doesn't come with one.

The unit is not very useable for typical bass unless you like distortion. Good for an Entwistle lead style of play. Really gets those juices flowing. 300 must be the total number of presets but the songs have like 70 or so and probably worth the 100 bucks for those alone.

Has 128 user patches and the thought occurred to me I may be able to downlaod the x3 bass presets into it but looking at the L6 site they had no presets available for the x3 - there were for the xt.

Only played it through an amp so far. Haven't tried recording into the computer.
