I have been using a Line 6 UX2 to do some home recordings for collaborating some riffs and ideas with my band. We are looking at spending some money on a mixing board to do some recording at my house in my basement where we have a jam room setup (drums, cabinets, mics etc).
One of the things that is important for us is the ability to have multiple inputs for microphones, an input for a keyboard and an input for me to DI too. If we can get another mic on the drums it might be worth it as well.
mic for guitar
mic for bass cabinet
mic for kickdrum
mic for overhead drums
mic for vocals
input for keyboard
From everything I have read most if not all mixing boards will only be able to mixdown into a two channels for stereo. I have my eye on the Line 6 UX8 since it has plenty of inputs for my needs and I have been quite satisfied with their UX2 product. Does the UX8 or any product allow you to record separate tracks simoultaneously? I would like to be able to record to separate tracks for obvious reason, mostly for post processing and adjusting audio levels in the track so the guitar, bass or drums have a good blend in the recording. Also I do all my recording in audacity and reaper on a mac.
Thx in advance! |
