Looking to record bass and drum loops

Im new to the whole recording scene here, so bear with me. Ive read through both of the stickies on the top of the thread, and have some understanding to what i would need, but I have a few questions. Let me explain what Im trying to do.
Im looking to be able to record my bass onto my computer and create some drum loops to be able to play along with. I know i would normally need some type of preamp, like a mic preamp to go through to record, but I have a BBE Bmax, so would i just be able to get away with getting some kind of Analog to Digital interface? Also, I know there are hardware and software based solutions for drum machines. Can anyone point me in the right direction here? Thanks!

Hi matt_chew,

Check out the new IK Multimedia Stealth Plug:
http://www.amplitube.com/Main.html?prod_Stealth.php

It gives you a bass to USB connection cable the also has a headphone out on it, some recording software, a bunch of software synths, amp modelers, and drum loops to play with.

This would probably be the simplest way to do what you are asking and still be very affordable.

Dan
