Well I posted this on the board at Fostex and they didnt have much help here is the song I am talking about. You have to turn like every volume up all the way possible and then all you get is a distorted sound out of the speakers....really frustrating. I could REALLY use some help.

It might be because your on a laptop, which i'm geussing has tiny useless speakers in it. In any case mine does, and I can't even hear most things to do with bass without external speakers or headphones.

+1 That is exactly why you have to check your mix on multiple types of speakers. That's why you go into studios and see a pair of Auratones or other small speaker. They are like the typical home or car stereo speaker.

I didnt listen to it back on my laptop...I just used laptop to load it from my recorder and I listened to it on my home computer and that same thing. I turned the computer volume...speaker volume and the volume on my myspace thing all the way up! Can still really only hear vocals and guitar. you should be able to download it now.

Since I have nothing better to do on a Thursday evening:

That file is just really quiet. Judging by the amount of noise I'm guessing you had very weak levels at the inputs from the get go. Top line in that picture is what I got off of myspace, second line was the 20 dB I was able to get by doing nothing other than turning the thing up. Third line is the 6 dB or so I was able to get on top of that by editing out two plosives that could have been avoided with better mic technique and/or a pop filter.

PM me if you'd like copies of this stuff.
