M Audio FireWire Solo Compatible

Hello

I want to buy a device so I can record my bass into the computer..
I've come up with 2 choices which are the M Audio Fire Wire Solo and the Line 6 tone port.

I was wondering with what (un-expensive) programs is M Audio compatible with for mac ?
