You're going to have tackle every warning through digidesign.com, unless it is a common fix error. There are usually always going to be problems, the system needs to be configured perfectly. Typically the loading is stopped by a lack of critical updates on windows, I am not sure if it's the same situation on a mac. I would almost recommend a reformat and fresh install, that computer becomes dedicated to Pro Tools...

Thanks for your advise. I was hoping not to have to format and start fresh, AUGH! Whatever happened to plug and play? LOL I did have everything hooked up to Windows Xp but was suffering from some serious lag and was hoping Mac would be the way to go, it is a sweet computer though. Hopefully I can sort it out!

I didn't have to reformat or fresh install. I just downloaded the 8 upgrade and made sure I had the 10.5.6 update and followed the instructions digi gave me. I would recommend getting as much ram as you can, it really speeds the whole thing up.

Was that the update n the digdesign website? I did see one there but it recommended that I install before the 8.0 upgrade

That's the one! you can install it any time. I installed it after my 8.0 upgrade and i've had no problems. Im even on 10.5.7 and have had no problems.

Yes get all updates from digi for windows after a fresh reformat, and more RAM will ALWAYS kick ass! The instructions must be followed exactly on set-up and install, and on windows, a few things can and will happen that will shut down installation. I had issues with audio playback, I needed more ram and a defrag, then had to start all over myself. I have been dealing with a lot of system conflicts too, but everything is doable in the end. The gap between pc and mac is gone I would say. Backup everything you need and give it another shot.
