Mackie's Onyx Blackbird

What do you guys think about Mackie's Onyx Blackbird Premium 16x16 FireWire Recording Interface. I have been look hard at it and it will be for home recording use pro tools.

Haven't used one but looking at specs it has 1 up on presonus firestudio project by having ADAT so you can add another later for a 16 track setup.

Cirrus Logic converters
60db pre amps
good dynamic range

Don't think you can loose for that price point.

Thanks that what I was thinking. I want to use the mcu pro in the future.

Bear in mind you will need the new PT9 native to run pro tools with this, the others need PT hardware to run!

Yes I know thanks am glad they made that decision. I like PT but I hated that you had to use m audio or Digi interfaces. Thanks for all the help.

NO experince with the blackbird specifically but I can assure have used the 400f interface for the past few year. The Onyx preamps are an absolute steal for the price Mackie offers them at. Drivers are stable and easy. I'm delighted at the clean bass sounds I get going DI (radial) straight into the interface. Big yes from me!
