MAJOR win in the studio last night

Recording a cd with a local band doing about a dozen original tunes, first session last night.

Small, local studio.

I don't know what the engineer will or won't like about my gear, so I haul my '69 Jbass, '78Jbass (both with TI flats), and my Tech21 RBI.

First, he recognizes the Tech21 and says he's GLAD I brought it.
Win #1

But it gets better: I plug in the '78J, then plug in the '69J and the engineer goes nuts! "THAT'S THE ONE, PLAY THAT BASS, MAN" is his reply.
Win #2

Win #3??

After we get the Tech21 dialed in he apologizes and says he has to make a phone call. hmmmmmmm.....

I listen to him call his wife and tell her to get online and find a good price on a Tech21 cause he has to have one in the studio and wants her to BUY IT NOW. No, really. He said that.

I told him about Washington Music's prices and service, so I think he's buying there today.

I don't know how the cd's ultimately gonna sound, but last night the bass tone he was recording was better than anything I could have ever hoped for.

It literally made the hair on the back of my neck stand up.
