the patch bay works well enough in a studio and the reconfiguring is generally pretty easy but bot so hot on a pedal board or a live bass rig rack IMO. I sold off my patch bay (on CL) a while back - I needed the last space in my recording rack.

I have a 4 channel HOSA Insert Snake from GC that I use in my PA. It was fairly cheap I lke that it is 1 cased wire as opposed to 4 set's bundled together. But the plastic molded ends and god knows what wire approach isn't going to be as good as the canare/mogami and switchcraft approach long term IMO.
